The Pastors' Cabin

at Agape Farm and Ranch

Mark 1:35- Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

What is the Pastors' Cabin? Jesus constantly had people coming to him to be taught, be healed, and be led. He was often weary after these encounters, and usually, His first response to this exhaustion was to get away to a quiet place to pray and be refilled by His Father. He didn’t do this as a way to escape from the people who needed Him, but rather as a way to re-energize Himself for His future work. The verse quoted at the top was followed by Jesus’ disciples finding Him in this place of solitude and telling Him that people were looking for Him. His response was basically, “Let’s go! They’re the reason I’m here.” His moments of quiet with God prepared and empowered Him for further ministry. That is what we hope this cabin will be--a place for pastors and other ministry leaders to find some silence and solitude to commune with God and be filled by Him so that they can go back to their ministries with new energy and power to do His work.

Where will the cabin be?
The cabin will be located on the farm property in Liberty Township NJ. The farm is 30 acres, with the cabin located on the back 7 wooded acres. After parking your car, it will be a short 5 minute walk down the trail to get to the cabin.

How will it work?
Pastors and ministry leaders from the area will access the Agape Farm website and navigate to the Pastor’s Cabin sign-out page, where they can pick an open day on the calendar. We will be allowing day trips only at this time. We will insure that the cabin is ready for arrival and provide any necessary instructions. That’s it!

What will be in the cabin?
We are planning for a 16’x24’ cabin. It will have a small kitchenette, desk, table and chairs, wood stove and a few beds. There will be a small bathroom and sink, and we will have a solar-powered inverter to power a few lights or charge a laptop. There will be a covered porch and a fire pit outside.

When will the cabin be ready?
Currently, we are just beginning phase 1…fundraising! We are looking to raise around $20,000 in order to obtain the building materials for the foundation and the framing. There will be further fundraising to finish the interior once the structure is up. We are going to raise these funds through donations that will be tax deductible through Agape Farm Ministries Inc. (501c3).  Donations will also be accepted through Paypal and Venmo on our website. Of course cash and checks are also welcome.
Phase 2- Once sufficient funds are available, we will begin construction. God has blessed us with the knowledge and skills to complete this task, but we will certainly be looking for volunteers at times as well.
Phase 3- Once we are near completion, we will start to advertise to the local churches and will unlock the sign-out portion of the website. We will also maintain a small blog so that you can be informed of the ministry progress and be praying for the pastors as they use the cabin.  From there, we’ll sit back and watch what God can do!
