20+ years ago, we bought a house. We fixed it up, raised a family, started a hobby farm, and over the years, Agape Farm expanded far beyond what we originally envisioned when we moved here. Then a few years ago, we felt God calling us to expand our vision once again by starting a nonprofit ministry that would use the property and resources that He has blessed us with to be a blessing to others and share the gospel with our community. And so, in 2021, Agape Farm Ministries was born as an official 501(c)3 nonprofit. So far, we have hosted several large annual community events. Our Family Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off in October draws in upwards of 200 people for a night of pumpkin painting, pony rides, bounce houses, live music, and of course, chili tasting. In December, the Christmas Drive-Thru has grown to over 1,700 people coming through over the 2 nights that we run it. This event includes 10 live scenes from the Christmas story, a bonfire with cocoa & other treats, Christmas caroling, thousands of lights, and dozens of seasonal inflatables. In August 2024, we hosted our first Proclaim Music Night on the farm, with 4 live musical groups, lawn games, a concession stand, and even Taco Chicas taco cart for dinner. All of these events are offered for free to our community; they are funded by donations and sponsorships to make sure that anyone who wants to attend isn't prohibited by cost. These events allow us to share the love of Jesus with everyone who steps foot on our property, and we are so blessed by how God has used them already to touch people's lives, and can't wait to see what else He will do through them in the future.
While these events have been a blessing and we have seen God working through them, the project that has been on our heart since we began Agape Farm Ministries is to create what we call the Pastor’s Cabin. It will be a place where pastors and other ministry leaders can get away to pray and refresh their spirits so that they can pour back into the people they serve. We cleared space for it back in the woods on our property a couple years ago, and we had hoped to get it up and running by 2024/25. We have a plan for the building and have been gathering supplies, either purchasing as we have money available or sourcing specific item donations for the build. Unfortunately, we find we are still quite a ways from where we need to be to take on a project of this size, but we are continuing to work toward this goal & will keep everyone updated about our progress.
